Rachael Causer & Henry Ward

Rachael Causer and Henry Ward are two artists who are also married to one another. Having lived and worked in shared spaces for over 25 years, this is the first time they have exhibited together. Causer is a sculptor; Ward is a painter. Both make objects and imagery that rest on the edge of the recognisable. Touching on humorous, their works explore a sense of precariousness – things on their way to becoming something else. Whilst approaching making from different perspectives, they explore the language of abstraction through investigation of shape and form, the back and forth of accruing and deducting layered surfaces and residues. Knot is a physical manifestation of many conversations about their respective practices.
