Politics of Translation

By Stella Rahola Matutes, Sofia Uquillas and Paul Wood 11th Jan - 3rd Feb 2019

Information lost and found in translation is the common thread of this project in which the interpretation of media and its shift between the physical and the representational results in a political statement about identity and reality.

The three artists featured in the project reflect on how far the translation and the representation of reality can go in creating new systems which substitute their original forms.

Stella Rahola, Sofia Uquillas and Paul Wood recognize how translation is a subjective process, which rather than just transmitting meaning, works with its malleability throughout media, choices and processes.
