True North
Stephanie Garon
10 April – 4 May 25
Garon’s show is a sculptural display of wild clay, a composite of separate pieces pulling together by industrial steel to create one central form. True North explores the concept of land commodification, with parcels representative of space and placement. How do our connections to natural resources shape our direction? As an abstracted, displaced landscape, this exhibition considers humanity’s movements around the globe in response to climate changes. As the viewer navigates their movement around these artworks, the contemplative space provokes individual ecological consciousness regarding how natural resources are gathered, accumulated, and valued.
