‘Based in East London, I am an artist who likes to capture ordinary fleeting moments. This can be through observing people in their everyday lives around the city or using retrospective images. Throughout their lives, both my grandfather and father took many photographs and shot cine film, so from 1930 onwards there is a vast catalogue of visual stimulus which I have drawn upon whilst creating many of my paintings. As I start to compose and paint these images, they often take on dreamlike qualities reflecting the transient nature of these moments.’
