Nick Blinko’s first solo exhibition since 2011 marks a significant return. PunkStone signifies the weight of history; Blinko’s first punk gig with his band Rudimentary Peni was at the Red Lion pub in 1981. The exhibition features micro-detailed work combining text, symbolism, and often extreme imagery. His work features witty word play and excursions into the underworld, revealing graphic commentaries on religion, history and mental health care. PunkStone reveals a brilliant mind that bristles with an unshakeable creative urge. Blinko’s work is testament to the affirming life-force of creativity.
