INTERFACE
Luke Skiffington
24 June to 18 July 2021
Luke Skiffington presents a single painting alongside a group of freestanding figure like assemblages. INTERFACE considers the changing role of the human in relation to technology, establishing interactions between the figure and urban spaces.
Adopting early CGI animations of a head, Skiffington’s works cite faces that mark the beginnings of a now mainstream image technology. Abbreviated faces are set against a larger scale painting that emerges as part backdrop, screen or window. Solidifying transitory encounters with a device and image, this exhibition addresses a blending of individual and public spaces and the uncertainty of ‘real’ experiences.
