I Tried To Fix It
Erika Trotzig
23rd November – 17th December 2023
Erika Trotzig is a London based, Swedish artist, working with sculpture. She has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, and she is a current recipient of the Royal Society of Sculptors Gilbert Bayes Award for emerging sculptors. Her works are humorous, un-heroic and absurd, often with anthropomorphic qualities: tragicomic in their struggle to hold themselves together. I Tried To Fix It is a series of works responding to questions around bodies and vulnerability, using the concept of the architectural folly as a tool to investigate power relations and what it means to be a body in the world.
