Delimitations
by Miguel Souto and Rob Reed: 28 June to 22 July
Miguel Souto’s photographs and Rob Reed’s oil paintings frame space and the environment in the urban landscape. The artists explore the concepts of boundaries and space through well-considered focus and scale.
Rob’s paintings explore scenes from the everyday, the overlooked and often neglected environments from our neighbourhoods. He draws our attention to footpaths, pathways, passages, underpasses and bridges, all of which are hidden in the commonplace.
Miguel combines a series of 49 photographs of football goals-posts located in urban parks to examine their differing impact on limiting their surroundings. The subjects offer a sense of tranquillity and the possibility of escape.
Both artists live and work in East London. Miguel is a Spanish photographer and product designer. He completed his BA in Interior Architecture at School of Architecture, Polytechnic University, Madrid, and a Photography Diploma at the School of Art, Albacete, Spain. Rob has recently shown work at Eastbury Manor House, Barking. He will also have work on display at the New Arts Projects (E8 4QS 6 July 6 – 25 August) and at Lewisham Arthouse (SE14 6PD, 16 – 29 July).
