Colours

An exhibition of paintings

14 July 21 July to 7 August 2022

Please note that this exhibition has been postponed due to illness. It will now open a week later than previously planned.

This exhibition brings together the work of a number of contemporary painters, for whom colour is a central component to their painting practice. They are engaged in an examination of the transient and shifting way that colour works when it interacts or is juxtaposed in combination with other colours. In some of these paintings the use of colour may be ‘both the subject and the means, the form and content, the image and the meaning’, whilst others use colour in response, or reaction, to the world around them. The resulting exploration and experimentation with the unbound possibilities of colour produces paintings that variously appear to vibrate or seem electric, soothing, sombre, or uplifting to the eye.
