“My aim is to create abstract, map-like works that explore our almost unnatural and disruptive desire to construct and urbanise across lands. Using a process as laborious and repetitive as a bulldozer’s, I hope to find the beauty in the earth’s increasing scars of concrete crisscrosses and quadrilaterals. On its own, each shape I create may be meaningless. A coherence begins to emerge, however, when these shapes are connected, resulting in a series of bird’s eye reflections on apparent progress.”
