One Hundred Thousand Surfaces Collide
Sandra Beccarelli
24 February to 20 March 2022
One Hundred Thousand Surfaces Collide @ The Stone Space is part of a vast collection of works created by abstract painter Sandra Beccarelli and is based on the quote by the American philosopher and poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson … “We live amid surfaces and the true art of life is to skate well upon them”.
What makes up the surface, and ultimately what do you choose to show?
Beccarelli pursues this by breaking down the surface, working from behind, from the invisible and unseen to create the visible, and by creating works where a variety of surfaces co-exist in the same space. She sees these co-existing surfaces and sub surfaces as a multiple variety of possibilities, forms and energies.
