Hotel Pavot
Marie-Thérèse Ross
27 January to 20 February 2022
Marie-Thérèse Ross is a London-based artist, whose work focuses on states of physical and emotional transformation. Struck by Dorothea Tanning’s retrospective at the Tate, Ross recognised many of her own themes, imagery and uses of narrative. Ross has taken inspiration for her show, Hotel Pavot, from Tanning’s installation, ‘Hotel du Pavot, Chambre 202’. Ross has collaborated with Noah Max, who has composed music in response to Tanning’s work, expertly paralleling Ross’s largescale sculptures. The show will include a live event where a musician will perform Max’s work, backdropped by Ross’s inspired sculptural artworks.
